The Ultimate Stretch Guide to Ease Low Back Pain

When’s the last time you stretched? We bet it’s not something you do regularly, and yet stretching is so important to increase blood flow and circulation, decrease stress, and improve your overall health. It keeps our muscles flexible, healthy and strong so we don’t end up with strains or joint pain. Nobody has time for that – so make time to stretch.

pt Health treats over 3000 Canadians daily within our 80+ multi-disciplinary community clinics across Canada. We offer a mixture of physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and chiropractic care, and something we always recommend to patients is the importance of stretching to help prevent new and recurring injuries. Our clinicians offer a unique interdisciplinary approach to treatment and strive to provide the best quality care in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. We also provide patients with a variety of home rehabilitation products. We do our best to teach our patients different stretches they can perform before and after workouts, sports or after sitting for long periods of time to help the muscle prepare and relax to avoid the risk of injury.

We’ve put together a short routine of key stretches you can do to help ease any lower back pain you may be having while sitting at your desk. But these stretches aren’t limited to people who work in an office – they’re helpful for anyone who just wants to learn some simple yet effective stretches. We’ve done half the work for you – all you have to do is find 10 minutes, whether in the morning, on your lunch break, or before bed. Do this daily, and your body will thank you!
